Jackie Zysk (she/her) is a varied artist whose work explores the representation of the body in the absence of a figure, spanning a variety of media including sculpture, photography, printmaking and fiber craft.
Born in the Mohawk Valley, Zysk graduated from the University at Albany with a MFA in 2017. She currently lives and works in Rochester, NY.
Zysk considers her practice a series of contradictions, much like the experience of life itself. Her methods include utilizing media designed for reproduction to create unique multiples, blurring lines between the geometric and the organic, or even separating personal bodily material as a way of universal human connection.
Zysk’s array of influences include Hard-Edge Painting, Minimalism, illustration, pseudoscience, and insomnia driven Wikipedia binges.
