Reminiscent of candy bowls and 5-for-a-$1 toy barrels from my childhood, “Take Them With You” is designed to provide a nostalgic display that invites the viewer to shift through the pile of resin worry stones. Upon finding one they like, the viewer is encouraged to take the stone with them. The worry stones, objects specifically designed for anxiety relief and meditation, aim to provide the viewer with a future moment of leisure.
This work has been installed at Collarworks in Troy NY in 2021 and at the RPI Rensselaer Union in Troy NY in 2022.
